About Asher

ABOUT ASHER

Asher Goldman was an honors graduate of Poquoson High School in 2005, studied music and philosophy at the University of Chicago for 3 years, and was planning to pursue graduate studies in music composition after graduation.  His lifelong passion for music - the focus of both his daily activities and life goals - was evident in his college application essay, in which he wrote, “I want to change the world with my music.”

Friends and family remember Asher as a gifted musician, a kind and loyal friend, and the “best kind of student a teacher could ever have.”  Kotoka Suzuki, Asher’s professor at the University of Chicago, noted something about Asher that stood out to everyone who met him: “He had an enormous curiosity and passion for everything, especially for music and composition.  Asher was also an incredibly hard worker, quick minded, witty and a true thinker who loved to be challenged.”
